An invocation for beginners by ze frank
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of beginnings for myself and many others that are new to VFS. A new city, a new school, and new friends. Whether it is one of these things or all of them, my classmates and I share the excitement that comes with starting something new. It is often a daunting task to take the first steps with something, and beginnings can be accompanied by feelings of self-doubt: What if I’m not good enough? What if I made the wrong decision? What-if? What-if? What-if? Well, what if everyone else shares these feelings as well?
Ze Frank is a video-blogger (among other things) who put together this video, which inspires it’s audience to take on whatever challenges lie ahead. He provides comedic comparisons to feelings that any beginner may have, while at the same time diffusing the things that seem to be most fearful. I feel its application is perfect for anybody that is about to begin a creative endeavor. It is a video that I often refer to when I need to be inspired and motivated. Please enjoy!
“This is an invocation for anyone who hasn’t begun, who is stuck in a place between zero and 1.” — Ze Frank
